The Saturna Volunteer Fire Fighters Association

recruits, trains and deploys volunteer fire fighters to meet the service requirements on Saturna Island. They also advise the Saturna Island Fire Protection Society on priority of funding, policies and strategic operational requirements.

About the Volunteer Fire Fighters:

The Fire Fighters Association meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Fire Hall . On the last Saturday of every month there is an equipment check. With the exception of the new recruits, all members have had "live fire" training and all officers have completed second level training courses. The funds raised by the Fire Protection Society and the Fire Fighters Association help members to upgrade their driverís licenses and pay for training.

The Fire Dept. issues Fire Permits through the general store.
